CHIN IMPLANT
What is a Chin Implant?
A Chin Implant is a form of facial plastic surgery designed to improve the general size and shape of the chin as well as the proportion, fullness, and balance of the face. A small incision is made under the lower lip where the implant is then inserted. A chin implant may help patients with a receding chin or those who feel they have a weak jawline.

What to Expect from a Chin Implant
Please remember that these are general guidelines and some people may need less or more time for a full recovery. You should work directly with the plastic surgeon who completed your procedure for specific instructions.
Before beginning the chin implant procedure, patients will normally be administered a local anesthesia as well as IV Sedation and be put comfortably to sleep. On average, a chin implant will take between thirty minutes and one hour to complete.
Patients should be prepared to have an adult provide them transportation upon completion of surgery and make any necessary arrangements should they need care or assistance 24 hours after surgery.
Most patients should be able to return to normal activities within a few days. You may be able to return back to work within three to seven days, but it is advised that any strenuous activity be avoided for at least six to eight weeks after surgery including contact sports.
The longevity of results will depend on many factors such as the amount of excess fat and laxity of the skin. Most patients can expect results that last seven to ten years, but will vary between individuals.

Some of the benefits of a chin implant include improved facial symmetry and fullness, a more defined chin, and a stronger looking jawline. For many of our patients, a chin implant has increased their confidence and self-image.
A chin implant may also help remove wrinkles around the jawline, chin, and cheeks, tighten loose skin, and improve muscle elasticity.
